چکیده
The questions we ask and how them will make a difference in successful are meetings, collaborations our careers as statisticians data scientists. What makes question good what great? Great elicit information useful for accomplishing the tasks of project strengthen statistician–domain expert relationship. have three parts: question, answer paraphrasing to create shared understanding. We discuss strategies asking great questions: preface with statements about intent behind question; follow behaviours actions consistent prefaced words including such listening, summarizing; model collaborative relationship via question. describe methods results study that shows can be assessed, learn those who learned this skill consider it valuable their careers. provide practical guidelines learning so improve collaboration skills thus increase impact help address societal challenges.

Asking Questions about Asking Questions in Collaborative Enterprise Modelling
In this paper we explore the subject of question asking as an inherent driver of enterprise modelling sessions, within the narrower context of the ‘dialogue game’ approach to collaborative modelling. We explain the context, but mostly report on matters directly concerning question asking and answer pre-structuring as a central issue in an ongoing effort aiming for the practiceoriented developme...

Lynn Arthur Steen Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science St. Olaf College [email protected] Assessment is about asking and answering questions. For students, “how am I doing?” is the focus of socalled “formative” assessment, while “what’s my grade?” often seems to be the only goal of “summative” assessment. For faculty, “how’s it going?” is the hallmark of within-course asse...

Ignorance is bigger.’ Firestein’s book does not explore the ways of knowledge, but the mechanisms by which scientists work to develop and answer questions...which invariably lead to more questions. ‘Not knowing’ is a key driver...

Inductive inference is the study of learning in a recursion-theoretic framework. The basic model is that the learner sees data f(0), f(1), . . ., makes conjectures e1, e2, . . . (these are programs) and eventually always outputs the same program, which is a program for f . This model was introduced by Gold [12]. This model, and several variants of it, have been extensively studied by several pe...
